BAKING CHRISTMAS

I don''t know what I love more about Srpingerle cookies - collecting the awesomely carved molds, or baking and eating these anise flavored, biscuit-like cookies. This year Peter was in charge of rolling the dough and pressing the molds (our cat, Gun, tried to get in on the action as well), and we ended up with a lot of fish, rabbits and birds, hmm... Whatever the theme, these quirky cookies make festive, edible art and are perfect with tea and coffee on Christmas morning or, try them on Christmas Eve with a cup of warm, spiced glug.  Skal!
