"Inbutsu"/ Limited Edition Linocut Print

$65

"Inbutsu"  Limited Edition Linocut Print This artwork is inspired by the 12th-century meditative practice called "inbutsu."  In Buddhist temples, "stamped Buddhas" were patterned on delicate paper as a meditative practice. This practice evolved simultaneously as the woodblock medium came into the world, and we thought it was a perfect addition, in so many ways, for this "Lux" project.  "Inbutsu" is part of the practice of calming the mind. It is the search for control of the mind and release of the ego through a meditative, repetitive gesture.  Here, we created a powerful demon of destruction and transformation, turning demons into goddesses one stamp at a time.
